Inspired by an unusual building in Ker Street, Plymouth. This was built in 1823 to the designs of John Foulston in the Egyptian style following the popularization of Egyptian architecture after the Napoleonic campaigns. One of only two such examples in the country. This is a single plate reduction linocut, where I used caustic soda to make the patterns in the sky. The intricate cutting took several days to complete.
